Chopped strand mat (or CSM as it is often known) is the most widely used of all composite reinforcement materials.Short strands of glass are randomly scattered and bound to create a mat which can then be wetted out with resin and used as a general purpose reinforcement for traditional fibreglass (GRP/FRP) moulds or parts.

Production discription:
Chopped Strand Mats are non-woven fabrics consisting of randomly distributed chopped strand held together with a powder or emulsion binder.Chopped Strand Mat is compatible with unsaturated polyester ,winyl ester,epoxy and phenolic resins.The products are most widely used in hand lay-up process and can also be used in filament winding,compression molding and continuous laminating processes.The typical end-use applications include various panels,boats,FRP roofing sheet,Automotive parts,bathroom equipment and cooling towers.
Packing and storage
Each product is wound onto a paper tube which has an inside diameter of 76mm.The roll outside diameter is approximately 275mm.Each roll is wrapped up in plastic film and then packed a cardboard box.The carton are stacked horizontally or vertically onto pallets.All pallets are stretch wrapped and strapped to maintain stability during transport. Unless otherwise specified ,chopped strand mats should be stored in a cool,dry,water-proof area.It is recommended that the room temperature and humidity be always maintained at 15ºC to 35ºC and 35% to 65% respectively .
